Haz Environmental successfully assists Heatric Birmingham in an important equipment and plant upgrade project.
Heatric, part of Meggitt PLC is a world leader in heat exchanger manufacture and to meet increased production requirements the Company has invested heavily in new equipment at the Birmingham facility.
The project presented many challenges in decommissioning of existing plant and the requirement for specialist cleaning to make way for the new equipment. This included decontamination of “Stripper and Etch Lines and process tanks” before removal could even begin.
The decontamination process also produced hazardous waste, which was disposed in accordance with all UK legislation by Haz.
Heatric also required the decontamination work to be assessed and completed in stages, dependant on the identification of work requirements as the project progressed.
So flexibility in the range of industrial cleaning services and timing of the work was an important factor.
As a preferred supplier to the Meggitt Group, Haz Environmental was in a position to offer a complete service, through their own dedicated specialist Industrial Cleaning Division.
We were able to assess the work in stages as required and present fully integrated solutions to undertake the work safely and effectively in accordance with detailed risk assessments and method statements.
Regular site progress meetings also ensured the work remained on track.
The experience of Haz Environmental was crucial in assisting the overall completion of the project smoothly and on time.
Neil Rackham Heatric Project Manager says “We really appreciate the expertise and professionalism Haz Environmental afforded us on this project. It was a major benefit to work with a supplier who can provide so many services delivered to such a high standard”.
Andy Bragg Haz Environmental Manager says “It was very satisfying to work with a company like Heatric who hold the same values as we do for health and safety and protection of the Environment”.
